Power of attorney
A power of attorney used abroad has to be signed and notarized by a Florida notary before we can get the Florida stamp. A notary in Mexico, Colombia, or another U.S. state cannot be fixed in Tallahassee.
What this document is
A power of attorney lets someone act for you — sell property in Peru, talk to a bank in Panama, or handle a family file in Ecuador. The Florida stamp authenticates the Florida notary’s signature, not the deal itself.
Florida notary is required
The notary block has to be a complete Florida notary block in English, even if the rest of the document is in Spanish. The notary must hold a Florida commission.
If you are outside the United States, use a Florida video notary. A local notary in Bogotá or Mexico City will not work for a Florida stamp.
True and Correct Copy
If you are attaching a photocopy of another record to a sworn statement, download the True and Correct Copy PDF and have a Florida notary complete it.

Sign with a Florida notary. Upload a photo or scan. Order. Ship the original signed document. We file in Tallahassee. Standard is $125 plus the Florida state fee ($10, or $20 if a county clerk certified the document). Rush is $199 plus state fees. Mailing it to the state yourself can take months, and a reject means you start over.
People sending a POA to Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, or Colombia from Miami or Orlando should overnight the original after the Florida notary is done.
