Affidavit or sworn statement
An affidavit used abroad has to be sworn in front of a Florida notary. Single-status, name, and residency statements are the usual files.
What this document is
A sworn statement. Foreign offices ask for single-status affidavits before a marriage abroad, name affidavits when spellings differ, and residency affidavits for school or tax files. The Florida stamp authenticates the Florida notary.
Florida notary, even if you are abroad
Use a Florida notary in person or a Florida video notary. Download the True and Correct Copy PDF if the statement is about a photocopy.
How we file it
Notarize, photo, order, ship, we file. Standard is $125 plus the Florida state fee ($10, or $20 if a county clerk certified the document). Rush is $199 plus state fees. Mailing it to the state yourself can take months, and a reject means you start over.
